hot take: half the “marine surveyors” on craigslist aren’t surveyors-they’re divers with a hammer. technically, legit ones follow ABYC E-11 for electrical and use ultrasonic gauges for hull plating (down to 0.1mm resolution). skip ’em and you’re blind on osmosis or chainplate corrosion. sams/nams only.
